A 5-year overview of how Parks Canada advanced conservation priorities in Canada, highlighting conservation efforts and projects from across the country.

Context

From 2018 to 2023, Parks Canada’s conservation efforts generated significant results through impactful approaches, clear priorities, new collaborations, and a highly dedicated team of experts.

Globally, and across Canada, we are facing the crises of biodiversity loss and climate change. This is compounded by the impacts of the loss of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and responsibilities in stewarding lands, waters and ice.

Addressing challenges

On behalf of Canadians, Parks Canada is working to respond to today’s conservation challenges. These efforts align with national and global priorities to halt and reverse biodiversity loss, take climate action and support Indigenous stewardship.

Advancing conservation

Parks Canada is advancing conservation through the effective and equitable management of protected areas. By embracing its unique position as one of the country’s largest federal land managers, Parks Canada is directly influencing the future of Canada’s environment for the benefit of nature and people.
